I've finished a version of my Telepon project based on the fortune teller idea from the previous post. Last class confirmed that the best part of the story to translate into videowas the private Telepon room where near brain-dead people learn things no singular mind was ever meant to behold.

I started off by sketching my character from several angles, not all of which I ended up using.

I then took these drawings and underlaid some very basic geometry, mostly to add depth to the face.

I modeled the Telepon and added a paper slip inside of it to display the fortunes.

The video inside the Telepon is a collection of cold-war era space films and propaganda from archive.org. Most, if not all, of these films are public domain. I composited them into a video collage, tinting most of the black and white footage to bright colors. The sound effects are largely pulled from these films. The Telepon clicking sound is recorded from my real Telepon and the music is just me playing banjo in my room.
