My work this week is as follows:

Shots 1 and 2 have been considerably altered, with a wider FOV, expanded environment, and new placement for the Vespa model. I’ve framed the building to the right of the camera and placed an arc in the distance as per several reference shots we were encouraged to lean towards by our professors. Based on the new lighting (Julee), I’ve altered the building materials slightly for realism and contrast.

Most recently, the windows now have glass + curtains and internal illumination, which are just displaced planes with area lights + glass with thickness.

Internally, the hunt for posters continues. I’m struggling to find an archive of the Italian poster ads that were very common in the 1940s.

As can be seen on my old first draft of the poster-wall model, I have found a large archive of period-appropriate Italian magazine covers/pages, however, the fine print present in these detracts from the realism.

Currently, the stand-in UV layout remains.
